I decided to get involved in the Midnight Walk because it seemed like a really good way of raising money. My mum was the one who mentioned it first, we both love walking for fun, for fresh air, for the views and for exercise. So to do something you love and do it for a good cause seemed like the perfect thing.
Of course, you don't get much in the way of views at midnight, but it certainly adds a new slant on things.
I've never walked as far as 13 miles before, so it will certainly be a challenge, one that I am alternately dreading and looking forward to at the moment.
I've never had any particular reason to think about Wheatfields or St Gemma's hospices, nobody I know has been in, I have no connection, but I read through all the information about them and I realised what a brilliant idea it was to try do my bit to support them. Because one day someone I know and love might need that help that is offered at the hospices, and it would be good to know that I've tried to help out.
