"My father in law died in Wheatfields on Christmas Eve 2007. Until then I have never visited a hospice but I found it to be a wonderful place. That’s the reason I am doing the walk, as a a way of repaying the hospice for their kindness."
– Beverley Shillito
"I will be taking part in the Midnight Walk again this year with my daughter in law. My father in law only spent 48 hours in St Gemma’s before he sadly passed away. The time he spent was probably the most calm and peaceful time of his life. Taking part in the Midnight Walk even though 500+ take part, it sounds strange, but also gives you a sense of calm and peace. Myself and my family can never repay St. Gemma’s for the way they took care of my dad in law."
– Sharon Butterfield
"We are a group of medical students who visited St. Gemma’s for a placement and were inspired by the work that we saw. Also, I’ve had personal experience of hospice care and just wanted to do something to help out."
– Kathryn Topley
